Hello! My name is Heather and I have been a maker my whole life. The goal of Purple Hobbies™ is to design and share tools that make crafting safer and easier with other makers.
We are a small, family owned and operated business. All designs are created by myself and my two sons with patents for both the BladeSaver™ Thread Cutter and the Magnetic Pin Cup designs.

All items on this site are original designs created with lots of feedback from family and friends. We have incorporated many customer suggestions into our products so if you have an idea for improvement please email me! It is our goal to ship the best possible products with the best possible quality and this means taking feedback seriously.
We use PLA (Polylactic Acid) for the majority of our prints. PLA is great because it is commercially compostable and it is made from renewable resources like corn starch and tapioca starch. (Please note that most residential composting facilities do not yet accept PLA--hopefully they will soon!). We also use PETG for some of the products depending upon color availability.
We use SolidWorks and Fusion 360 to design the models and then we print them on a "farm" of Bambu Labs 3D printers. (The BladeSaver Thread Cutter has been so popular that we had to get help manufacturing it, so some of the colors are injection molded in a factory in China.)
