Safely Store your Scissors and Needles

Hand Sewing Companion
The Hand Sewing Companion is a set of boxes to help make your hand sewing as safe and convenient as possible.  There are three boxes that you can mix and match to create the best experience for your personal hand sewing needs.


Scissor Box

The scissor box safely stores your embroidery scissors (up to 3.75" total length) and up to 6 needles.  (Scissors and needles not included.)

There’s a magnetic slot to keep the scissors safely stowed, but the handles stick out so they’re convenient to pull out and use. 
​On the other side of the scissors magnet is a hinged lid with a shelf for your pins.  There are ridges to keep the pins straight, and a space to allow you to push on the edge of a pin to “pop it up” to pick it up.  
​There is an additional compartment on the right that can be used for storing a thimble, or, in my case, I use it as a trim bin to place all those little threads I cut off of my work while sewing.
​There are silicone feet on the bottom to hold the box in place when you’re sliding your scissors in and out of it.
​There are also magnets installed to snap storage boxes onto the bottom, and you can stack as many storage boxes as you’d like.  Additional boxes are available for purchase in all the colors.
Tall Storage Box

The Tall Storage Box allows the most options for adding storage to your Hand Sewing Companion

  • Fits floss cards (the number depends upon how much floss is wound on each)
  • 1 large spool of Aurifil or similar sized thread 
  • 2 small spools of Aurifil or similar sized thread and a thimble or needle threader
  • 6 M-class bobbins stowed in 2 bobbin clips (a full skein of floss fits onto an M-Class bobbin)
    • 2 M-class bobbin clips are available at a reduced price with purchase
  • 9 Class-15 bobbins stowed in 3 bobbin clips
    • 3 Class-15 bobbin clips are available at a reduced price with purchase
Short Storage Box

The Short Storage Box allows you to store your thread in a more compact space.

  • 2 small spools of Aurifil or similar sized thread
  • 9 Class-15 bobbins stowed in 3 bobbin clips
    • 3 Class-15 bobbin clips are available at a reduced price with purchas
